Annual General Meeting set for November 14

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the IASE takes place in the Red Cow Moran Hotel, Naas Road, Dublin 22, at 10 a.m., on November 14, 2013.

Included in the agenda are project reports on some of the key activities of the IASE over the past year, including Job Shadow Day, the EUSE conference and Open Door.

Minister of State Lynch to launch three-year strategic plan for IASE

Photo: Kathleen Lynch TD, Minister of State with responsibility for Disability, Older People, Equality and Mental Health, will launch the IASE Strategic Plan 2014-2016.

Minister of State Kathleen Lynch will launch the IASE's Strategic Plan 2014-2016 on November 14 in the Red Cow Moran Hotel, Dublin.

The strategic plan sets out the main priorities for the IASE for the coming three years, which include developing Irish best practice guidelines for supported employment and producing new research on supported employment in Ireland.

IASE's charity video campaign continues

The IASE's charity video campaign for the 2013 Better Together national competition continues until November 22 when public voting closes. 

The video has been viewed hundreds of times on the IASE Youtube channell but we still need your votes for the competition.

New resources for job coaches have been added to the IASE website.

The section of the website dedicated to job coaches was recently reviewed and updated with lots of new information, guides and resources, which may be of interest to many supported employment professionals.

The IASE now has more than 50 videos on supported employment and related topics on its Youtube channel.

The short videos range from employer testimonials to Job Shadow Day success stories, features on IASE events and informational pieces on supported employment for employers and jobseekers.

Judging panel announced for Best Practice Awards

The independent adjudicating panel, which will decide the winners of the IASE National Best Practice Awards, has been announced.

The panel is made up of 11 professionals from across the not-for-profit and business sectors, both at home and abroad.

NLN Cavan shares Job Shadow success stories

Three clients of the National Learning Network, Cavan, were offered jobs after they took part in Job Shadow Day.

The NLN in Cavan held a ceremony recently to present Job Shadow participants with certificates and plaques.

Get involved at a national level


The new national executive committee of the IASE will be elected at the association's annual general meeting (AGM) on November 14.

If you would like to get involved with the work of the IASE at a national level, you can submit a nomination form and profile before November 7 and go forward for election at the AGM.

Workstation adjustments could benefit 60% of workers
Enable Ireland offers workplace assessments


Some 60 per cent of workers could benefit from adjustments to their computer or workstation,according to Enable Ireland.

The disability support organisation is offering companies across the country a workplace assessment service and says it could help to reduce sick leave in their workforce.

Hurling boss Brian Cody presents Job Shadow awards

Kilkenny hurling boss and Job Shadow 2013 mentor Brian Cody joined Access Supported Employment Service for their Job Shadow Day presentations recently.

Mr. Cody took part in two separate Job Shadows earlier this year.

He was in the Ormonde Hotel in Kilkenny on October 24 to present certificates and plaques to more than 55 other Job Shadow participants and mentors, including 20 local employers.
